The formation of the candidates to the Catholic Priesthood is indeed holistic, as it prepares the candidates not only to be effective dispensers of the sacraments, but to also to be proper administrators of the Church’s temporal goods. The latter is the motive for appointing seminarians into various offices or departments in order to manage various sections of the seminary life and activities. The House Officers’ meeting is therefore the platform where reports are given by the students concerning the various offices they manage in the seminary. The first House Officers’ meeting for the 2019/2020 academic/formation session was held on the 22nd of November, 2019. The meeting, which began at exactly 8:30pm, had the presence of the Rector, Rev. Fr. Anthony O. Ewherido, the Moderator of Students Affairs, Rev. Fr. Joseph Iyamah, and the Associate Moderator of Students Affairs, Rev. Fr. Kenneth Adesina, as well as seminarians who are holding offices for the 2019/2020 session. The Rector, during the course of his opening remark, charged all to effectively execute their duties, as they were further means to develop oneself in preparation for the demands of the priesthood. The meeting had its agenda of activities which included the reading of the last meeting, reports given by the student-heads of various departments, and the Rector’s responses to the reports given, amidst other items on the agenda.
