GREAT BODIJA MATRICULATED 82 NEW STUDENTS FOR B.A DEGREE IN PHILOSOPHY.

To the Glory of God, the Seminary of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Major Seminary, Great
Bodija, in affiliation with the premier University of Ibadan, on this day, matriculated Eighty-
Two of her students in the First-Year Philosophy, as Bona Fide students of the two great
institutions. This 38 th matriculation ceremony, which was declared opened by the Vice
Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Prof. K. O. Adebowale, ably represented by the
Director, Directorate of Affiliated Institutions, University of Ibadan, Prof. F. Offor, gave the
Seminary of Great Bodija another distinctive to appreciate the premier University of Ibadan
for such the wonderful and robust partnership and affiliation relationship that has existed
between the two Institutions for the past years. The Matriculation Ceremony had in
attendance, other distinguished officials of the University of Ibadan, in the person of the
Registrar, University of Ibadan Mr. G. O. Saliu, who was ably represented by The Deputy
Registrar Senate, Admission and Affiliated Institutions (SAAI), University of Ibadan, Mrs.
Stella O. Soola, the Head of Department of Philosophy, University of Ibadan, Prof. C. A.
Udefi, the Affiliation Officer, Directorate of Affiliated Institutions, University of Ibadan, Mr.
O. O. Ajani, The Rector Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Major Seminary, Very. Rev. Fr. Dr.
Anthony O. Igbekele, The Registrar Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Major Seminary, Very Rev.
Fr. Dr. Hubert Opara, The Dean of Studies Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Major Seminary, Very
Rev. Fr. Dr. Francis Adedara, the Acting Head of Philosophy Department, Very Rev. Fr. Dr.
Melchizedek Okpala, the Director, Ss. Peter and Paul Institute of Theology, Very Rev. Fr. Dr.
Joseph Iyamah, other distinguished Members of Academic Staff, the Superiors and
Representatives of Religious Houses of Formation, the Seminarians, as well as the invited
guests.
During the Matriculation Ceremony, both the Rector of the Seminary and the Vice
Chancellor of the University of Ibadan in their addresses, encouraged the new students to be
focused and uphold good characters that will promote the good name of the Seminary and the
premier University respectively. The Matriculation Ceremony came to its substantial peak
when all the Matriculants took their Matriculation Oaths. The Matriculation Oath was
administered by the Deputy Registrar Senate, Admission and Affiliated Institutions (SAAI),
University of Ibadan, Mrs. Stella O. Soola. Subsequently after, all Matriculants had to sign
the Matriculation Register to signify the acceptance of their studentship into the Premier
University.
