To the Glory of God on this day, as the Universal Church celebrates the Feast of the
Conversion of St. Paul, our Seminary Great Bodija, in communion with the Universal Church,
solemnly celebrated this great Feast and had the Rite of Admission into Candidacy, in which
Thirty-Six Seminarians of First Year Theology were admitted officially as candidates for the
sacred priesthood. This annual Rite of Candidacy, as well as the liturgical celebration of the Holy
Mass, was presided over by His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Gabriel 'Leke Abegunrin, the Metropolitan
of Ibadan Archdiocese. In his homily, the Archbishop re-echoed the importance of this Rite of
Admission into Candidacy and affirmed that the Church in her wisdom has put this in place at
this stage of formation in the Seminary, so that every Seminarian may understand the need to
make himself available for formation and open to the transformation of the Holy Spirit, so as to
live out an authentic Christian faith. The celebration, which was a huge success, was witnessed
by the Rector, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Anthony Igbekele, other in-house Formators and Seminarians.
